Akbar Hafeez is a self taught artist who paints freely, unshackled by any rules and thus being able to create bold and dramatic compositions that continue to hold & mesmerize the viewers attention. This multifaceted artist who is an Interior / Furniture / Event Designer loves to express himself passionately on the canvas with his bold and inhibited use of color and free flowing organic compositions. Akbar’s paintings are a surreal depiction of women suspended in a timeless reality set in the Garden Of Eden juxtaposed with heavenly fruit birds and ofcourse the moon which is a mystical symbol representing the tides of life. The Garden of Eden Series has evolved over the years and is the fundamental and often universal idea explored in most of his paintings. This words that describe Akbar’s work in its entirety are alluring and most importantly temptation something that we all face everyday in our lives. Akbar has been painting for almost two decades and has had many successful shows both Solo and Group in Karachi Islamabad and Lahore. He has successfully established a niche for himself in the hearts of art lovers at home and abroad. As Akbar puts it very poignantly “ My work is a study of me sometimes a fight many times a romance with myself and the temptations I fight with or entice others into my world . This is how this whole universe came into being. For me being creative is everything without it there is nothing “
