Shah Abdullah hails from Quetta, but currently settled in Lahore, Pakistan. He graduated in Fine Arts from National College of Arts in 2012. Shah specializes in Miniature Painting, for which he was awarded the prestigious Haji Shareef Award. He was part of the ‘Maktab’, a project by renowned artist Imran Qureshi in collaboration with Lahore Biennale Foundation and Agha Khan Museum, Canada during the first Lahore Biennale in 2018. Later on, in 2019 along with other six artists, Shah attended a two-week residency which was another version of the Maktab project conducted by Imran Qureshi at QUAD Derby, UK. He was commissioned to make works for the New Islamabad International Airport, the project was handled by Noorjehan Bilgrami and Nazish Attaullah. Abdullah has been exhibiting his work at various national as well as international venues. His recent body of works is inspired from Mehergarh Civilization. He has served as visiting faculty at School of Textile and Design, University of Management and Technology Lahore. Shah teaches Persian Miniature at Hast-o-Neest (a non-profit organization) in Lahore and calligraphy, drawing and miniature at Faiz Foundation, Lahore.
