Abid has served his alma mater as lecturer for some years till 2014 and worked simultaneously at Studio RM as drawing instructor. He has received numerous awards including best young artist award from Alhamra Art Council, Lahore in 2010. Presently he is enrolled in the master’s program of Visual Arts at National College of Arts Lahore. His formal break was the group show ‘Drawing Mandalas’ which was held in Karachi, curated by Muhammad Zeeshan in 2012. He showcased his first solo exhibition in Canvas Art Gallery Karachi in 2013 and did Sanat Residency in Karachi. In 2014 he displayed his work in Khass Art Gallery Islamabad; his work was also represented in ‘Major Hussain Collection’ at Canvas Art Gallery Karachi in the same year. He exhibited in ‘Silsila’ a project of STUDIO RM at Sanat Initiative Karachi in 2015, became the recipient of ‘Arjumand Painting Award’ by Gallery 6 Islamabad and displayed his calligraphic works in ‘Variations Along the Grid’ at Koel Art Gallery Karachi. In the beginning of 2016 he showcased his new works titled ‘The human within us’ at Sanat Initiative Karachi. Aslam lives and works in Lahore, Pakistan.
